Completing a college Certificate of Achievement builds valuable skills and shows employers you are capable of following through on your goals. We offer a variety of programs to suit your interests.
In addition to the course requirements, you’ll need to meet the Certificate General Requirements. All our certificates may also be applied towards an Associate in Science (AS) degree, or transferred to a 4-year university.

Technical – Apparel Industry Oriented
This certificate is designed to give students the skills required to compete in the rapidly changing apparel industry. Technology has been incorporated into the curriculum with computer-aided design. This training can lead to jobs as designers, assistant designers, pattern makers, production managers, pattern graders and other fashion related positions.
Custom Dressmaking/Small Business
This certificate is designed for students who plan to open a small business and want a more aesthetic couture approach for the business of fashion. This training can lead to jobs as dressmakers, tailors, designers, alterations, fashion salespersons, fashion illustrators, manufacturer’s representatives and other fashion related positions.
Theater Costuming
This certificate is designed to provide students with an introduction to the costuming industry, including the many types of jobs available in this field, from designing to costume construction and show production. Students learn about historic and theatrical styles, pattern making skills, tailoring and construction skills as well as design and illustration techniques to prepare them for a job in costuming. Students will also have the opportunity to work on actual productions through class work or internships.
Fashion Merchandising
This certificate is designed to provide students with the creative and business skills required to be successful in this expanding field. This training will give students the skills necessary to be competitive in the global retail sector of the fashion industry, leading to positions in fashion merchandising, internet and store-based operations.
