The Extraordinary Leader is designed to help leaders shift their way of thinking about leadership from the conventional idea that leaders are born to the fact that anyone can be a great leader.

What separates an average leader from an extraordinary leader? Internationally acclaimed leadership authority Jack Zenger provides some compelling answers that demystify leadership and explain five key insights that distinguish a truly extraordinary leader from a good or “average” leader.

Based on the book of the same name by Zenger and Joseph Folkman, this two-day program will change the way you think about leaders. It challenges the conventional wisdom that great leaders are “born.” Forget whining about how your colleague had all the “advantages.” Learn why and how anyone can be a great leader! And then learn how to do it.

Research of more than 180 leadership behaviors led authors Zenger and Folkman to conclude that leaders who just move from “good” to “a little bit better” don’t make much of a difference. It’s not until one becomes a “great” leader that there will be a significant impact. They have pared the list of competencies to 16 that correlate with net increased profit, customer satisfaction and employee engagement.

Through video, case study, and self assessment, you can learn how to become a great leader. This unique two-day class also allows you to engage in experiential activities geared towards applying the insights gained in the class. Specific application to your workplace will be discussed during debriefs following the activities.
