Our Coast to Coast Expedition Semester is an 85-day course with an immersive journey on foot through valleys and lush rainforests for 26 days. You will have the opportunity to brush up on your Spanish and immerse in Costa Rican traditions while through a homestay with a family in a rural area. Boost your leadership and raft-guiding skills through challenging and exhilarating whitewater rafting excursions. To truly survive in the outdoors, you need more than the right skills. You have to be a true leader as well, equipped with essential training in rescue and wilderness medical care. You will learn about this and more through a fun semester with Outward Bound Costa Rica! Undergo training in becoming an outdoor professional, helping you acquire necessary leadership skills in the wild. With our Leadership Semester, you will learn to guide rafts down raging rivers, organize rescues, set up belay systems, lead groups through the rainforest, give wilderness medical care, and scuba dive world-class spots. Engage with locals who will teach you about surviving in the Costa Rican jungle. The program is integrated with certifications, leadership training, and work experience to develop you into a skilled guide or instructor. You will earn up to 10 academic credits upon successful completion.

ILISA offers you this possibility to escape the cold winter in your respective countries, and come enjoy an exciting educational experience here in Costa Rica. We have created a complete package that includes: Spanish classes, homestay, airport transportation and two weekend excursions. In this intensive program, students will be enrolled in language classes from Monday-Friday for four hours per day plus multiple activities around the country. Classes will be determined by the student’s level of proficiency and are offered for all levels. Students can participate in the program for 1, 2,3 or more weeks.

LISA Instituto de Idiomas offers one-to-one tutoring sessions ideal for individuals with very specialized language needs. We provide private classes for 2, 4, 3 or 6 hours a day. This program is available for every level and follows the same scheduling as the Group-4 and Group-4 Plus programs.
