The Department of Practical Theology prepares Christian leaders to serve with intelligence and integrity in ministries that span from congregation to classroom, from spiritual practices to public service.

The Bible feeds the church's moral imagination, and the Biblical Studies Department is dedicated to training students to serve as biblically informed theologians, preachers, ministers, and scholars.

This course is an in-depth study of the scriptural, theological, and historical dimensions of the seven sacraments, including the rite and celebration of each sacrament. It draws upon the insights of patristic, medieval, and modern theologians to uncover the fundamental principles of sacramental theology.

This course is a survey of the Sacred Writings shared by the Jewish and Christian communities through an examination of selected books from the Old Testament.

Whether you are preparing for ministry or you want to grow more in your understanding of the Bible and the Christian faith, CORE EN is for you. The program's language is English, but students can choose to write the assignments also in Finnish. You can also choose to study without taking graded exams or essays.

The Ecclesiastical Licence in Catechetics is a qualification of the Holy See, distinct from an S.T.L., and has been offered by the Maryvale Institute since 2012. It is intended for those in leadership positions in catechetics and in other positions of responsibility.
