Introduction
With a Diploma of Community Services, you can graduate with the skills and knowledge to be a valued professional worker in the community and social service areas. This may include areas in child protection, domestic violence, employment support, and migrant services, amongst others. You will have gained comprehensive skills in advocacy, case management, community program development, consultation, policy, and research, preparing you for a fulfilling and important career.
Course Structure
To receive this qualification you must complete 16 units, 8 core and 8 electives. Students attend college 20 hours per week over 4 days.
The course is conducted in 8 terms, each comprising 10 weeks, inclusive of holidays.
The course requires 400 hours mandatory Supervised Work Based Training (WBT). Stott’s College focus on Work Based Training, following our tradition, we will assist students in finding a placement.

Course Outcomes
For pathway students, upon completion of the course, students will be exempted 8 units in Bachelor of Business (Community Services Management) at Stott’s.
Graduates who complete the Diploma of Community Services can seek the Australian Community Workers’ Association full membership as a Welfare Worker.

Requirements
Completed YR 12 or equivalent and IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. You will also need to obtain evidence of a Police Check to ensure participation in work placement.
