Graduate Pathway in Kinesiology and Recreation

An INTO Illinois State University Graduate Pathway program in Kinesiology and Recreation will prepare you to enter your next semester of a master’s degree program at Illinois State University.

Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your next semester of study at Illinois State University. This transition from an INTO program to a university degree program is called progression.


Degree Program Components:

1-Semester:

  • 33 credit-hour program
  • 9 credit hours apply from the Pathway
  • 24 credit hours remaining towards a degree

2-Semester:

  • 33 credit-hour program
  • 18 credit hours apply from the Pathway
  • 15 credit hours remaining towards a degree

Entry requirements

1-semester

  • Academic requirements: Completion of undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Motor Learning or Physical Therapy with 2.5 GPA out of 4.0.
  • English language requirements: TOEFL 79, IELTS 6.5, PTEA 53, IELA 176 or Password 7.
  • Age requirements: 17 years and above.

2-semester

  • Academic requirements: Completion of undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Motor Learning or Physical Therapy with 2.5 GPA out of 4.0.
  • English language requirements: TOEFL iBT 65, IELTS 5.5, PTEA 44, IELA 169, Password 6 or Completion of AE Level 4.
  • Age requirements: 17 years and above.
