Graduate Pathway in Materials Engineering
Students who successfully complete an INTO UAB Graduate Pathway program in Materials Engineering are assured progression to a UAB graduate engineering degree program upon submission of additional required application materials. After successfully completing the Pathway program, you are guaranteed to enter the graduate degree program. This transition to university from an INTO program is called progression.

- 33 credit hour program
- 12 credit hours apply from Pathway
- 21 credit hours remaining toward a degree
1-Semester:
- 33 credit hour program
- 9 credit hours apply from Pathway
- 24 credit hours remaining toward a degree

Entry requirements
1-semester
- Academic requirements: Four-year undergraduate engineering degree in composites, manufacturing, materials, polymers or chemistry, composites, physics or related field. 2.5 undergraduate GPA.
- English language requirements: TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.5, PTEA 53, or IELA 176.
- Age requirements: 17 years and above.
2-semester
- Academic requirements: Four-year undergraduate engineering degree in composites, manufacturing, materials, polymers or chemistry, composites, physics or related field. 2.5 undergraduate GPA.
- English language requirements: TOEFL iBT 65, IELTS 5.5, PTEA 44, Completion of Academic English Level 4, Password overall Level 6, or IELA 169.
- Age requirements: 17 years and above.
