Graduate Pathway in Mechanical Engineering

NOTE: This program can be completed in 16 months including the Pathway program.
NOTE: Depending on the engineering emphasis selected, additional coursework may be required. Undergraduate credits do not count toward the degree; they serve as pre-degree foundation requirements. Some courses may be offered at the South Charleston campus. No Summer courses are offered for this program. Students starting their Pathway in the spring will take a break in the summer and continue with the second semester in the fall.
What are the progression requirements?
After successfully completing the Pathway program, you are guaranteed to enter a second year of study. This transition to university from an INTO program is called progression. You must meet the following Marshall University Pathway Progression criteria in order to progress:
- Minimum of 3.25 GPA in graduate level courses
- No grades below B in all 500/600 level courses
- No grades below C in all ENG 150, 151 and 160 courses
- No I grades
You are fully admitted to Marshall University provided they have successfully completed conditional admission criteria at the end of the Pathway program and submitted all required admission credentials.
Where will this take me?
Upon successful completion of the Graduate Pathway program, you will be ready to start your second year in Marshall University's graduate degree program in Engineering, with an emphasis in one of the following areas:
- Engineering management
- Environmental engineering
- Transportation and infrastructure engineering
