Graduate Pathway in Mechanical Engineering
Do you want to study for a graduate degree in the United States but need to improve English language skills or test scores? A Pathway program provides academic, language and cultural support in order to succeed at a US university. Students are guaranteed progression to a graduate degree program through curriculum consisting of credit-earning courses. We provide full integration with domestic and international students on campus from highly trained university instructors and tutors while giving you academic support throughout the program.
Students who successfully complete an INTO SLU Graduate Pathway program in Mechanical Engineering are assured progression to a UAB graduate business degree program upon submission of additional required application materials.

NOTE: This program can be completed in 12 months including the Pathway program.
What are the progression requirements?
After successfully completing the Pathway program, you are guaranteed to enter the graduate degree program. This transition to university from an INTO program is called progression. You must meet the following UAB Pathway Progression criteria in order to progress:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA in graduate level courses
- 3.25 GPA in all engineering courses
- B or better in all courses
- No grades I or W permitted
You are guaranteed admission to the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering program at UAB after successfully completing the Graduate Pathway and meeting all progression requirements.
