You will develop advanced referencing, cataloguing, circulation, database searching, multimedia, information technology (IT), and copyright during the course. You will also develop effective communication, training, leadership, and customer service skills.
Experienced teachers, who are experts in the field, will guide you through the program, which involves a combination of theory and practice.
This nationally recognized qualification may lead to employment in library assistant or technician roles in public, corporate, or school library environments.
Once complete, this qualification can provide a pathway to relevant university degree courses, such as a Bachelor of Information Studies. Chisholm Institute is the largest provider of tertiary and vocational education in Melbourne's southeast.
Please note that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing requirements, this program will be delivered remotely where possible to continue your learning journey.
Participants will be required to engage with learning material online, and video conferencing software rather than attend classes. While it is expected that the course duration will remain unchanged, it may be necessary to extend the completion date if circumstances change. Chisholm will be monitoring the situation closely and inform of any changes if the duration of a course is extended.
