The Associate of Arts Liberal Studies-Teacher Preparation degree is designed for students intending to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a career in teaching.

The degree's courses satisfy CHC general education requirements for the associate degree, prepare students for the majority of their lower-division courses in education, and fulfil the IGETC and CSU Breadth general education requirements and the courses needed a degree in liberal studies at transfer institutions.
