Manhattan Christian College

Introduction

Manhattan Christian College was founded in 1927 as a four-year undergraduate institution of higher education. Originally named Kansas Bible College, it received its original charter from the State of Kansas in 1929 under the name Christian Workers University. The campus was purposefully located in the centre of Manhattan, Kansas directly across the street from Kansas State Agricultural College, now Kansas State University. This proximity to a major university has provided students with unique educational opportunities as well as a combination of cultural, recreational, and evangelistic opportunities. In 1930 the name of the college changed to Manhattan Bible College.
